Assisted by Artpoint, Aylesbury Vale District Council successfully applied for a ArtPlus Award to commission integrated public art works throughout the new ‘transport hub’ in Aylesbury Town Centre.

Aylesbury Vale District Council and Buckinghamshire County Council will appoint a lead artist and a South East based emerging artist to create integrated permanent artworks for the new public transport hub in Aylesbury town centre. They will work in collaboration with the designers, Jacobs Babtie. The transport hub aims to create a traffic free zone for the Market Square. Through the commissioning process and final artworks the councils want to raise awareness and knowledge of both art and environmental issues, and to encourage the use of sustainable transport such as trains, buses, bicycles, skateboarding and walking.
